As a first generation Cuban-American raised in a single-parent household, James understands the struggles that South Florida families face every day. Helping families is exactly what motivated him to run for public office. James has made it his life’s work to improve the lives of those around him in any way possible. While attending Florida International University, James improved the lives of his fellow students by working to provide quality facilities and activities for his fellow students. He has a compassionate approach to public service, and hopes to bring that approach to the Florida House of Representatives.
James was raised in Olympia Heights. He attended Florida Christian School, before attending Florida International University, where he was a founding brother of his fraternity as well as involved in the Student Government Association. James graduated from the University of South Carolina School of Law, where he was a member of the Christian Legal Society and the American Constitutional Society.
James is currently a teacher for Miami-Dade County Public Schools where he teaches Social Studies.
